Camino Photo Contest Winners
The Camino Provisions team and judges have enjoyed the many, many beautiful Camino photos you shared with us during the Photo Contest, and we are thrilled to publish the winners today. By way of reminder about the rules, a person could enter one photo per each of three categories: Camino Landscape, Camino Cityscape, and Life of a Camino Pilgrim. First and Second Place winners were chosen in each of the three categories, and then one of the three First Place photos was selected as the Judges' Favorite.
We are grateful to all who entered the Photo Contest, and will feature many of the photos entered throughout our website and in Camino Provisions mailings.
Congratulations to the winners!
Winner: Judges' Favorite (“Favorite of the Firsts”), First Place Camino Landscape, and Second Place Life of a Camino Pilgrim; total winnings $125
Heather Bohannon calls Greenville, SC home but Spain is her other favorite place to be. After growing up on the East Coast of the U.S., Heather moved to Madrid to work with a missions organization in the heart of the city. It was love at first sight. Since then, she's moved a handful of times in the U.S., to Germany, and back to Spain. While based in Madrid, she walked some of the Camino Francés, and helped out for a week in Ligonde (Galicia) at a pilgrim help center. Her dream is to walk the entire Camino Francés alongside her husband.
Winner: First Place Camino Cityscape, First Place Life of a Camino Pilgrim, and Second Place Camino Landscape; total winnings $125
Anne Hughes resides in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, where she helps incoming pilgrims at a non-profit center called Terra Nova Pilgrim House on Rua Nova. In her free time she enjoys training for and running road races, and discovering new favorite beaches along the Galician coast. Her winning photos were taken during a Spring 2016 Camino from Porto to Santiago. Highlights from her walk include the sections she completed along the coast, a wonderful stay at Casa Fernanda, and the forests and rocky hills of “the water and stone route.”
Winner: Second Place Camino Cityscape; total winnings $25
Xavier Fox lives in Santiago de Compostela, Spain with his parents and younger brother Silas. He attends second grade in Santiago, where teachers give lessons in Galego (the native language of Galicia) and Spanish. He also speaks English at home. When he is not in school Xavier enjoys building Lego creations, and playing games with Silas and their neighborhood friends. Xavier shared several nice photos with us from the Spring 2016 Camino Inglés that he walked with his mother.
Photo Contest Winners will receive Amazon Gift Cards via email. Alas, there were no entries in the Story Contest this cycle, so no prizes were awarded. Look for these and other stunning photos in a Gallery coming soon.
